Jeffrey Danison

Jeffrey M. Danison went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Fairfield Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Delmar and Edna (King) Danison of New Lexington, Ohio. He was born and raised in New Lexington and graduated from New Lexington High School, Class of 1975.

Jeff was employed with Cooper Standard from 1975 to his retirement, firefighter for New Lexington for 14 years and City Council Member for 12 years. Jeff (AKA Bomba), was an avid lover and player of sports. Jeff was blessed with God given athletic abilities. He had superior strength, speed and hand eye coordination. He had natural footwork and a throwing arm so strong that it caught the eye of Major League baseball talent scouts. He was invited and tried out for the Montreal Expos, Pittsburg Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds. Although not drafted, these invited to try out were a testament to his great athleticism. During his career at New Lexington High School, Jeff earned nine varsity letters, four in baseball, four in football and one in basketball. Jeff was also a panther varsity assistant coach for three years under head coach Larry Saffell. Jeff truly enjoyed watching New Lexington teams play. Therefore, donations in Jeff’s name may be made to the New Lexington Athletic Department, 2547 Panther Drive, New Lexington, Ohio.

Jeff is survived by his son Ty (Amanda) Danison of New Lexington and daughter, Alicia (Josh) Martin of Zanesville. Brother Brian (Karen) Danison of New Lexington. Jeff has five grandchildren, Emmie, Carter and Olivia Danison, and Brice and Brenner Wartman, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Edna Danison.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8pm on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Father Todd Lehigh as Celebrant.

Burial will follow at New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
